Come learn the basics of weaving in a rustic farmhouse alongside a warm fire!  I am teaming up with Elise Dudley of Green Room Weavings to offer an “Introduction to frame loom weaving” workshop here at the farm!

In this workshop you will learn the basics of weaving on a frame loom. After learning the basic fundamentals of structure,  we will review a variety of techniques that will open the doors of possibility for your own weaving creation! Creating tassels, tapered braids, and other ways to add texture and variety. You will also learn how to finish your weaving and remove it from the loom. Meet the alpaca and explore the farm after a light lunch.

You will go home with enough yarn to finish your project and new fiber friends!

If you already have a yarn stash and are enthusiastic, please feel free to bring along any fibers.

(Space is limited to allow for individual instruction.)

A bit about our instructor:

:: I recently relocated from Corvallis, Oregon back to Tennessee to begin a new chapter closer to family. I started my fiber journey in Oregon in 2014—two weaving workshops, a handcrafted frame loom, and a lot of experimentation later I grew a deep appreciation and love for weaving. I am excited to offer these workshops in the hope that weaving, fiber, or some aspect of the experience will bring you joy. ::

** Group discounts are available, please contact (kacie@fiberfarm.net) for more details!

The location for this workshop is in the front room of the farmhouse, originally built in 1860. Please join us as we continue to add to the rich history of this gathering space while enjoying the company of like minds and a warm fire.
